The measurement of liquid levels in a high-temperature mixture, e.g., liquid metal and molten salts, is a formidable challenge to many industries, including metallurgy and nuclear fuel reprocessing. A smart Two-Phase Level Probe has been developed jointly by Delta M and PAI Corporation that can be used in liquid cadmium and molten chloride salts at temperatures up to 500¦ C. The sensitivity of the probe meets the requirements, e.g., 0.3 mv/cm for salt/metal level at 500 ma excitation current.
